TAKING CHANCE

I just saw a TERRIFIC movie made for HBO.
It's called Taking Chance and it stars Kevin Bacon.
It's about the military's little-publicized policy of providing a uniformed escort for every fallen soldier. The film is so powerful, and the story is so moving, that it should be seen by all Americans. It will be on HBO a lot in the next few weeks. Watch it with your family. Don't miss it!

GLOBETROTTERS

I had a great time today meeting Harlem Globetrotter Buckets Blakes on our show. Super cool guy...really dedicated to the Globetrotters and to being a role model for kids. The Globetrotters will be at the Wachovia Arena Friday night March 6th. They always put on a great show for the whole family.

VALENTINE'S DAY

Happy Valentine's Day! I told you that Erin and I were celebrating with a rare "date night" last night. We had a fabulous dinner at Tony Stella's Goodfello's. Clams Italiano, Seafood Ravioli, Mr. Tony's Salmon, Veal Mignon.....wow! Incredible! And Mr. Tony, Giuseppe and Brian
went all out to help us enjoy a nice, romantic night out. Just what we needed. And yes...just like you when you go out without your kids...we spent a lot of time talking about our daughter. LOL
It never fails I guess. We had a blast.
Happy Valentine's day to you and your sweetheart!

SPRING FEVER

It was so great to be outside yesterday!!! What a day! 63 degrees on my car thermometer.
I spent most of the day filming some TV spots with Attorney Michelle Quinn from HKQ Kids. Watch for them in the coming months. And for lots of child safety tips, go to www.hkqkids.org.
On Valentine's Day, we'll be babysitting for friends of ours so they can go out to dinner. So tonight is our "Valentine's Day" night out. Erin and I are going to dinner tonight while her Mom watches Valerie. We're treating ourselves to Tony Stella's Goodfello's. Can't wait. I hope you have some special Valentine fun lined up too.

DORA

It was great to see so many of you at Dora the Explorer Live at the Scranton Cultural Center last night.
What a show! The kids went crazy! It was so much fun to watch Valerie and all the kids singing, dancing, and participating in the show.
We got to meet Dora and Tico before the show and they were so great with all the kids.
We had a blast and we loved seeing you and your little ones at the show.
There are 2 more shows today, at 4:00 and 7:00.

A MILD TUESDAY

Hooray!! The temperature was actually above freezing when I got in to work today!
I know it won't last long, but it sure gives us something to look forward to.
Erin, Valerie and I are going to see Dora the Explorer Live at the Scranton Cultural Center tonight. I'll be introducing the show and hosting the backstage meet-and-greet. Valerie is going to go wild. She LOVES Dora. We're taking her little friend Ciera with us, and her parents Shane and Michelle. Should be a great night!

Today we gave information on how to get involved in trying to keep the Scranton State School for the Deaf open.
The website with all the info and the on-line petition is www.sssdsos.org.

We're now watching the Bruce Springsteen Super Bowl halftime show for the 100th time.
Not for me.
For Valerie!
She loves it! She dances around, playing air guitar, screaming when the fireworks go off.
It's hilarious!
During Glory Days, she says, "Dad, look! Little Stevie!!"
She especially likes the trick Bruce pulls at the end where he throws his guitar around his neck about 10 times. She wants to learn that one.
Are your little ones hooked on anything on TV that surprises you?

We saw a great movie...Slumdog Millionaire...nominated for every major award.
Really well-done, intense, original. A real treat in a sea of copy cat movies and boring sequels.
Check it out.

February Vacation

We've had a great week off. Visiting my family in Ocean City, Maryland, the temperature on Monday and Tuesday was 55 degrees! Awesome!!
Great Super Bowl too! Way to go Steelers!
Looking forward to being back on Monday morning.
